Navarre Beach bills itself as Florida's "Best Kept Secret." The tiny beach community is bordered by mile and after mile of National Seashore and federal land used by nearby Eglin Air Force Base. Tucked between Pensacola Beach and Fort Walton Beach, Navarre Beach is no secret to thousands of Louisiana natives who discovered its shores decades ago.

Today, the area is hardly undiscovered. After Hurricanes Opal and Erin barreled through in 1995, the area saw a resurgence of growth and development.
New housing communities hug the northern shore attracting more year-round residents while the gulf-front is nearly all redeveloped with a mix of luxury condominiums and townhouses. Most are available for vacation rental year-round.. Winter brings hundreds of Snowbirds fleeing unfriendly climates in the northern U.S. and Canada. 

The island's mainstay and only hotel is the Holiday Inn which has served as the social epicenter since the 1970s when it served as the backdrop for scenes in JAWS II. A Holidome, meeting rooms, award-winning children's program and warm hospitality bring generations back year after year.

The recreational center is at Juana's, a thatched roof complex on the Santa Rosa Sound which boasts a bar modeled after the one in the Tom Cruise movie "Cocktail". Juana's rents all kinds of water vehicles from pontoon boats, jet skis and sailboats. Vacationers and residents alike enjoy the beach volleyball courts set up outside and a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with a world-winning  view complete the picture.

Just over the bridge on the mainland are two more hotels including one with a small conference center, a variety of fast food restaurants along with several seafood and steak restaurants, shopping center with grocery store, drug store and more. 
Be sure to bring along your child's skateboard as a park is located adjacent to the bridge and visitor's of all ages will enjoy the nearby Butterfly Park.
