Fishing, without question is the top recreational activity in the Destin area which was "discovered" by vacationers about 20 years ago. Anglers have known about Destin's deep sea riches for 50 years competing in a variety of fishing rodeos and competitions. The area is also home to endless water sports. The crystal clear waters make it a favorite among snorkelers and divers while the more adventurous take to the skies parasailing. The area also boasts a dozen golf courses crafted by some of the top names in the sport such as Tom Fazio, Fred Couples, Jerry Pate, Bob Cupp, Joe Lee, Rees Jones and Tom Jackson. Tennis players have their choice of a wide array of public and private courts.
